Once you've earned enough points, you can redeem your points for cryptocurrency or gift cards
What is my Accuracy Score? How does it work?
Your Accuracy Score is a measure the quality of your work on SimplyCodes. All new Editors start out at Accuracy of 0. As an Editor performs valid activities (Adding or Testing codes), they earn Accuracy points. You Accuracy Score will grow as you continue to contribute to the community. This helps you earn even more coins for activities, as well as gives you the ability to perform more actions on SimplyCodes.
How do I test coupons?
On SimplyCodes, testing (or verifying) coupons is an easy way to earn coins! Verifying a coupon means that you will test the coupon to determine the following:
Does the coupon work?
If the coupon works, is all information about this coupon accurate on SimplyCodes?
Steps to test coupons:
Go to the Verify tool: https://simplycodes.com/editor/verify
Read the coupon's information and then click "copy code and test". This will open the merchant's website in a new tab.
Follow the coupon's instructions. Typically this means you will need to add specific products to your shopping cart or create an account on the retailer's website. You should always add at least 5 products from different categories to your shopping cart before testing the coupon.
Go into your shopping cart and proceed with testing the coupon (most retailers will have a "promo code" box at some point in their checkout flow).
After you have tested the coupon, take a screenshot showing the result of the coupon on the retailer's website, then go back to the Verify tool and fill out the form.
It's recommended that you use a United States VPN when testing coupons to ensure you can properly access the retailer's website.
What if I am unable to test the coupon on the retailer's website?
Sometimes it might not be possible to properly test the coupon. These reasons might be:
The retailer's website is no longer in business
You are unable to access the retailer's website due to your location being outside the United States
The retailer does not have anywhere to enter the coupon code
If this happens to you, you can "skip" the coupon! To do this, you can click the text "I'm having trouble verifying this code". Fill out this form and then the page will show you another coupon to test.
How do I Add coupons?
First, you'll want to find a coupon that does not currently exist on SimplyCodes. Here is an article which outlines ways to find coupons: https://simplycodes.com/blog/how-to-find-promo-codes
Once you find a coupon that does not currently exist on SimplyCodes, you can add it using this tool: https://simplycodes.com/editor/add.. Fill out all information about the coupon, add a screenshot of the coupon working, and then click Submit!
What is a Single Use Coupon and how is it different from a regular coupon?
Single Use Coupons are coupons that can only be used one time and then they expire. Retailers often will send these to shoppers via email. SimplyCodes allows these codes to be added, however they must be added using this tool: https://simplycodes.com/editor/add-su.. Adding Single Use Coupons using the incorrect tool will result in a loss of accuracy points.
How do you find Single Use Coupons? When you go to a retailer's website, they will often have a form where you can enter your email and they will send you a discount. Simply enter your email here and then check your email inbox after a few minutes.
Why is my Accuracy decreasing?
Your Accuracy Score is determined by judging the quality of your work when adding and testing codes. If you notice your accuracy decreasing, this could be due to codes you tested incorrectly or for adding codes that don’t work.
Here are a few tips to ensure the codes you add are correctly tested by other users:
Use an accurate title that includes any restrictions or minimum order value.
It’s helpful to include a specific URL on non-storewide codes, such as a deal on a specific category or product. Note: do not add a URL to the store's checkout or cart page, this will cause you to get invalidated.
Be sure to specify expiration or future start dates if you know them.
For stores that offer subscription products (eg a monthly shaving subscription) as well as non-subscription purchases, it’s important to specify this in the deal title. Often a promo code will only apply to the subscription products.
Pay attention to the country of the store as many larger brands will have different sites for different countries (e.g. Nike US & Nike UK). So if you add a code for Nike US to the Nike UK page on SimplyCodes, that would be an invalid code.
What are some best practices for testing codes?
Pay close attention to the deal title to spot any restrictions. When testing non-storewide codes, the title will indicate which products the code is valid for. Note: if the current title is not accurate (eg missing restrictions) make sure you update the information.
Ensure your shopping cart meets the minimum cart value requirements.
If the code says that you must create an account on the brand’s website, make sure you actually create an account so you can properly test the code.
If you are using a VPN, please make sure you are on the correct country website. We recommend always using a US VPN. Some VPNs will redirect you to the wrong location, which will impact how you test the code. Brands on SimplyCodes are mainly US websites, though we do have some sites in other countries such as Australia, the UK, and Canada.
I’m unable to access the store’s website. What should I do when testing the code?
If you are unable to access the store’s site, please do not invalidate the code as this will penalize your Accuracy Score. Instead, you will want to use the “I’m having trouble verifying this code” feature to submit a report. By submitting this report, you will get a new code to test without negatively impacting your accuracy score.
Is there a limit to the amount of codes I can add per store?
While every store is different, the platform will let you know if you're adding too many codes for any given store, so make sure you pay attention to any messages. It's generally a good idea to add codes to a wide variety of stores as that will help you earn more coins.
Why am I earning fewer coins when adding codes?
If you’re earning fewer coins on added codes, this could be for a few different reasons. You may be adding many codes to only a few stores, which gives you a lower payout. Adding codes to a wider variety of stores helps you earn more coins. Another reason could be that you added codes to stores that already have many active codes. By focusing on stores that don’t have many active codes, you’ll earn more coins.
Pro tip: Stores that offer a badge will award you extra coins on that code, as well as a temporary coin earning boost across all of your SimplyCodes adding and verification activity
I’m receiving messages saying there aren’t any more codes available for me to test. Why do I run out of codes to verify?
When we have many testers active on SimplyCodes, we can sometimes run out of codes to test. When this happens, it's best to focus your time on adding quality codes so you can continue earning coins. Don't worry, new codes usually refresh in the Verification tool within a few hours so be sure to check back in!
Pro tip: Add Single Use codes as an easy way to earn coins in addition to adding regular codes.
Why is my gift card or Bitpay request deferred?
If you have a deferred payout request it’s because we have noticed patterns of unhelpful or abusive activity on your account and the payment has been deferred. We will review your activity between your most recent request and the one that was deferred and based on changes in behavior will make a decision on approvals.
In the meantime, make sure that all of your activity on SimplyCodes is accurate and helpful to the community. Here are some tips on how to best use SimplyCodes:
Make sure that you are adding codes that are valid and accurate.
Add codes to popular stores with few codes and avoid stores that have a lot of codes as that is not helpful to the community.
Make sure that you use the correct tool when adding codes. Do not add Single Use codes with the Regular Code tool, this will cause your gift card to get rejected.
Finally, make sure that when you are verifying codes that you are following the steps that we provide to you fully.
Following these steps will help you avoid any delays or rejections in payments.
Why is my gift card or Bitpay request rejected?
Gift cards get rejected when the quality team discovers a user performing abusive behaviors including adding invalid codes or incorrectly testing codes. Gift cards are rejected after a thorough audit of a user’s activity. If your gift card is rejected and you would like more information, you can use the Contact form to request more information about your rejection.
I received an email saying that my Amazon gift card was approved and sent, however I haven't received my gift card yet. What's going on?
Gift cards are sent directly from Amazon to your email inbox. Amazon usually sends gift cards very quickly, however it can occasionally get delayed. If you are waiting for more than 24 hours, please reach out to Support and the team will investigate.
What is Bitpay?
Bitpay is a cryptocurrency payment processor that allows businesses and individuals to accept Bitcoin payments. On SimplyCodes, we are using Bitpay to provide cryptocurrency payments to Editors as an alternative payment method to Amazon gift cards
What is happening to Amazon gift card payouts?
We will still support Amazon gift card payouts for any Editor who wishes to continue receiving them. When you request a payout on SimplyCodes, you will be able to choose the payout method you prefer: Amazon gift card or Bitpay.
How do I sign up to receive Bitpay payments through SimplyCodes?
Go to your SimplyCodes settings page (https://simplycodes.com/me/settings/personal-info) and at the bottom will be a field where you can enter the email address you would like to use for your Bitpay account. You will receive an email from Bitpay at this address with instructions to complete the sign up process. If you already have an existing Bitpay account, you can use this same account.
Please note: once you enter this info, you will not be able to change it. This is done for security reasons. Please make sure you enter the correct email address.
After you have signed up on Bitpay for the first time, you will need to complete your account verification. This includes verifying your identity securely through Bitpay. You will also need to enable your account to receive payments by uploading a cryptocurrency wallet address in your Bitpay account. After this has been completed, then Bitpay will alert SimplyCodes that your account is eligible to receive payments.
Are there any fees associated with receiving Bitpay payments?
Bitpay charges a 1% transaction fee for each transaction. On SimplyCodes, this 1% fee will be taken out of the payment total that you request. For example, if you request a $20 payout, then you will receive $19.80 worth of cryptocurrency in your Bitpay account.
Please note: with any cryptocurrency, there may be additional fees if you decide to spend or convert that cryptocurrency.
What cryptocurrencies are available to receive through Bitpay?
When you receive a Bitpay payment from SimplyCodes, you will have the option to select from 4 cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Dogecoin. SimplyCodes does not determine which cryptocurrencies are available, that is determined by Bitpay.
I signed up for Bitpay through SimplyCodes yet the Redeem Bitpay button is gray and won’t let me request a Bitpay payout.
This means that your account is still being verified by Bitpay. This can sometimes take up to a few days (or longer).
After I submit a Bitpay payout request, how long does it take for SimplyCodes to pay me?
The process is similar to when you request an Amazon gift card. First, your SimplyCodes activity will be reviewed for quality. Once the moderators review your account and approve your payout request, then the payment will be sent via Bitpay. Bitpay sends out payments two times a day, so it’s best to be patient as it might take up to 24 hours for the payment to land in your Bitpay account. Please also check the email inbox associated with your Bitpay account in case you need to take action to receive the payment.
Is there a maximum payment amount I can request through Bitpay?
Currently, SimplyCodes is limiting Bitpay payout requests to a maximum of $200 per request.
